South American Customers Use Laser Welding Machines
Our company laser welding machines are sent to customers in South America to add new strength to customers' production lines. The most suitable workpiece for laser welding is a thin plate workpiece with good consistency (thickness is generally less than 4mm), and the width of the weld does not exceed 10% of the thickness of the plate. Causes laser energy to disperse and affects welding efficiency.
Customers often ask "what if the seam is too large, can it be solved with laser welding + wire filling?". The wider the welding seam, the larger the welding spot is required for welding, which will cause difficulties in the selection of the core diameter of the laser and the welding head, and will disperse the energy of the laser. It is not possible to use wire feeders for general gas shielded welding when using filler wire. A good laser welding wire feeder is more expensive than a low-power laser, which will lead to a very high cost of the entire equipment, and the welding process will be very complicated, so for We do not recommend customers to use laser welding for workpieces with too large welds.
Similarly, laser welding of thick plates is not recommended for customers at this stage due to the high equipment cost and complex adjustment process. There are two types of products that are not suitable for laser welding: 1. The weld is too large (generally more than 1mm); 2. The thickness is too thick (generally more than 6mm).
